In collaboration with the Collaborative’s college partners, researchers will design an instructional model for supporting development of self-directed learning mindsets and skills in online courses. The model will be informed by findings from earlier research activities and will emphasize strategies that benefit students from historically marginalized backgrounds. While the focus of our research is on supporting students in online STEM courses, the model will be flexible enough to work in diverse contexts using technology tools that are commonly available on campuses. Tools and resources will be available to support implementation of the model by faculty and staff.
