Enhancing Excellence in Online Teaching: The Role of Self-Directed Learning Skills
Wednesday, February 16, 2022, 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM EST at DREAM 2022
Research indicates that online course formats have tended to exacerbate gaps in course performance across student groups. As colleges have expanded online offerings during the pandemic, it has become increasingly important to examine and improve online instruction. In this session, presenters from the Postsecondary Teaching with Technology Collaborative draw on research to discuss the importance of students’ self-directed learning skills and offer examples of instructional practices to support students to apply and strengthen these skills.
